Sprint Manual

The WOC 2024 team have developed a sprint manual to help ensure that the high profile sprint events being promoted by WOC in the run-up to the 2024 championships take a consistent and high quality approach to mapping, planning and staging, improving the experience for domestic and international competitors.

The manual is intended to be of value to all sprint event planners and organisers: whilst some elements (e.g. bibs and marshals) may only be practical at larger events, many of the recommendations and reminders are applicable at all levels of competition.

The document’s focus is the “on-course” aspects of events: mapping, course planning and map printing. It includes a list of top tips and links to more detailed resources including the ISSprOM 2019-2 map specification and the IOF rules and guidance.
